WREN MORROW
I make photographs of people wearing things, marrying people, and being looked at — and I try to make the looking feel kind.
Morrow Studio is me, a small Brooklyn studio with one north-facing window, and a handful of people I call when the job needs more hands. I shoot for labels, magazines and couples, and I travel when the light is worth it.
I don’t have a style so much as a habit: wait for the light, stay a little longer than planned, and leave the frame alone once it’s right.
Approach
- Light first, then location, then everything else.
- Small crews. Most days it’s three of us.
- Direction is quiet. People look like themselves when nobody is shouting.
- Every edit is tight. You get the best frames, not every frame.
- Colour is graded by eye, one set at a time. No presets.
